Terroir and vine varieties
The main vine
used in this region is Merlot and a part of Cabernet-Franc and a touch
of Cabernet-Sauvignon. The nature of the ground, consisting in a
succession of plateau made of clay and limestone and a mix of sands and
crushed limestone is particularly adapted to the thriving of these
types of vines.
Thanks to the
influence of the ocean and the moist of the winter chills the
temperatures are well regulated.
